Warning!!!

Hey guys!  I am happy to say that I have lost a few more pounds, but I would just like to put a little warning out there.  Since I’ve been trying to lose weight, I’ve been using a lot of Splenda.  To make a long story short, for the past 6 or 7 months I have been feeling really weird.  I’ve been lightheaded, having panic attacks, nausea, nervousness and fatigue.  Sometimes the symptoms are so bad that I feel like I am literally dying or going crazy.  I can pinpoint these feelings back to when my co-worker and I bought a new coffee pot for the office and I started using 4 pack of Splenda daily.  I don’t think it’s the caffeine, because I have always had huge amounts of coke and pepsi.  I never really drank diet soda.  I just wanted to put that out there in case some of you are trying Splenda.  I have been reading about Splenda sickness on the net and it sounds like a lot of people have a problem with it.  I am not saying that Splenda is my problem or that everyone will have a problem with it.  My mom uses it and has never complained.  I’m just saying be aware.  I will write back in about 2 weeks to report if the symptoms have gotten any better.  Good luck this week :)

YEAH!

Yesterday ended my first week and I managed to lose 4 lbs and walk 30 min a day except Friday.  YEAH!  You have no idea how bad I don’t want to walk today, but I am going to get up in a minute and do my 30 min., then go and have a nice long rewarding bath and read while drinking green tea.  Who ever is reading this, I hope your week was just as good.  Take care!

So far so good!

Well, today is just day 2, but so far so good.  A little disturbing news, on Monday I was extremely lightheaded and nauseaous (SP).  I checked my blood pressure today and it is 168/93 (sky high).  Good news is that all this diet and exercise is wonderful for high blood pressure.  I will be checking pressure all week and if it doesn’t change at all I will see Doc on Monday.  I have managed to eat healthy and walk 30 minutes a day for the past 2 days.  Hey, gotta start somewhere.  I will check in on Monday with more progress :)

Getting Started

I am going to be getting started on my new “diet” tomorrow (Monday).  I decided that last week.  Only this time I am not going to diet.  I was speaking with my mom yesterday and between the two of us we have lost and regained a total of about 400 pounds over the last 10 years.  We always “diet” and lose weight, then gain it back with an extra 5-10 pounds.  So, I have decided to out right just change my whole eating style.  It’s no longer a diet, its a change in the way I eat.  I will post another blog later to see how its working out.  Maybe later I will get the nerve to post my weight ticker.
